Privacy Policy

Summary
2WebP converts video to animated WebP entirely in your browser. Your video files never leave your device — there is no upload step. The page does load Google AdSense and a consent management platform (Funding Choices) which set cookies; those are described below.
Client-side processing
The conversion uses FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, loaded into your browser. The video file is read from your local disk, processed inside the browser tab's memory, and the resulting animated WebP is saved back to your disk via a download prompt. At no point is the file transmitted to a server.
What we do collect
Local storage (in your browser)
We store your conversion preferences (selected preset, last-used quality settings, Pro purchase marker if any) in your browser's local storage. This data does not leave your device. You can clear it from your browser settings.
Server logs
Cloudflare, our hosting provider, records standard HTTP access logs (IP, user agent, referrer, timestamp) for the pages you load. These are retained per Cloudflare's default retention and used for service operation and security.
Contact form
If you submit the contact form, the name, email, subject, and message you provide are sent to hello@2webp.com via a one-shot email relay. The IP from which you submitted is briefly stored (60 seconds) for rate limiting; it is not retained beyond that.
Pro authentication cookie
If you purchase 2WebP Pro, we set a signed cookie (wp_pro) containing only a hash of your email and an expiry timestamp. The cookie identifies you as a Pro user for 180 days. It is strictly necessary for the Pro feature you paid for, so no separate consent is required.
Advertising and consent
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense (publisher IDpub-3470675806627135). For visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland we use Google's Funding Choices CMP to obtain TCF v2.2-compliant consent before personalized ads are served. You can change your choices at any time via the "Privacy & cookies" link in the footer of any AdSense-served ad, or by clearing your cookies.
AdSense and its partners may set cookies and use device identifiers to serve relevant ads and measure performance. See Google's "How Google uses information from partner sites" for the full list.
Third-party services
- Google AdSense and Funding Choices — ads and consent management.
- FFmpeg WASM — open-source video processing library loaded from CDN. No data is sent.
- Cloudflare — hosting and edge runtime.
- MailChannels — outbound email relay for the contact form.
Your rights
You can clear your browser's local storage to remove preferences. You can decline or withdraw advertising consent through the CMP. For any other request, email hello@2webp.com.
Changes
We update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
